A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE YEAR 2009-2010 AS A SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION YEAR FOR THE CONGREGATION WHEREAS the Congregation of the Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple was formally incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey as a religious institution in the year 1859; and
WHEREAS this Congregation has continued to serve the Jewish community throughout the county of Middlesex for an uninterrupted period of one hundred and fifty years; and WHEREAS the Congregation of the Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple desires to commemorate and celebrate these one hundred and fifty years of achievement; and WHEREAS this Congregation desires to rededicate itself to the continued and enlarged service of its members and its community with renewed vitality of purpose: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED in the manner following: to wit— FIRST: That this regular meeting of the Congregation of the Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple duly convened on October 6, 2009, be designated and declared to be the Sesquicentennial Anniversary Meeting of the Congregation. SECOND: That the Congregation authorize and empower the officers, trustees, and duly appointed committees to plan and carry out a celebration containing a religious and civic program calculated to review and reaffirm the principles of this organization, both in its religious attitudes and its civic obligations. THIRD: That this Congregation does hereby pledge to increase its efforts with renewed vigor to carry out the aims and ideals of Judaism in its service to the community at large. FOURTH: That the Congregation authorize and empower its leaders to make known the importance and meaning of the Sesquicentennial Celebration to all of the families of the Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, the larger community of New Brunswick, and throughout Middlesex County. |
